The late summer floods hit festivals and test flood defences

Braunton suffered severe flooding on Boxing Day 2012 and thus sparked a stream of works to rectify the North Devon town’s problems.

However, last weekend’s heavy rain still caused a flood in Caen Street sparking renewed questions from residents.

Meanwhile, Festival Number 6 at Porthmadog in Wales was also deluged leaving swamp-like conditions and tractors rescuing campers from the mud.

The heavy rain caused a range of other flooding situations across the UK when some holiday makers were attempting to celebrate a range of late-summer events.
